In 1931, the faculty of the University of Connecticut voted to offer comprehensive examinations in most degree programs to graduating seniors, and outgrowth of a report to the Committee on the Study of Honors (11/6/1930). The departments reported the results of the examinations and their recommendations to the Registrar and the Committees on Scholastic Standing and Degrees with Distinction. Garry A. Miles was born 7 June 1901 and was employed by the University of Connecticut Extension Service in 1933 as an Assistant Poultryman. Over the years, he took on additional responsibilities at the University but was always associated with the Poultry program. Mr. Miles died in August 1969. From the description of Garry A.
